The Sylvania Play & Community Facility Association is a community charity serving the Sylvania, Pennsylvania and Stoke Hill areas of Exeter. The purpose of the charity is to provide a meeting place for local clubs, societies and other groups, with a particular emphasis on children's activities. Our hall is located at the Stoke Hill end of Mincinglake Valley Park, opposite the bottom of Collins Road.
The past few years have seen some substantial improvements to the Hall. In 2009, we completely refurbished the kitchen, making the Hall a much more attractive venue for parties and other events with a catering element. In 2010, the garden was completely remodelled and now has numerous activities for children and a lovely decking area. Since then, rather less glamorous but just as necessary, the heating system, toilets and windows have been replaced. What's to come next? You'll have to wait and see - or contact the committee and make a suggestion!
The Hall is a valuable community resource which only exists because of the volunteers who give generously of their time to keep it running. We are always looking for enthusiastic people to join our committee, and the more people who get involved, the less everyone has to do. If you're a local resident or hall user and would like to lend a hand or have your voice heard, contact The committee for more information, or come along to our AGM in November.
